Come see what's N.E.W. at Shasta College

Thursday, May 5th, 2016

9:00am - 1:30pm

Shasta College Main Campus

Join Shasta College as we host our 5th annual N.E.W. (Non-Traditional Employment for Women) event on May 5th. Our event originated at a Women's Fund Forum titled: Hard Hats and Tool Belts: Breaking the mold for women, featured in October 2011, where Eva Jimenez, Dean over Career Technical Programs spoke related to programs offered at Shasta College which are Non-Traditional for women. The concept is to introduce the idea of Non-Traditional careers to women at any stage in their lives.   We will host a High School event, allowing young women to gain a general understanding of programs, from 9:00am to 1:15pm. This event will  expose the woman to hands-on workshops where they will able to weld, run a motor, hold a fire hose, etc....Come join our faculty and staff for a great day learning something N.E.W.!!!
